If some of the trees and light poles on campus look extra-cozy this winter, that’s because of Ellen Wrede, a junior from Cedar Falls, Iowa.

Wrede has been installing wooly creations around poles and trees across campus. Yarn bombing, which started in the mid 2000s, has had a moment in the spotlight lately, with a feature in the New York Times and even its own day—June 11, 2011, was the first International Yarn Bombing Day.

Minda Davison, advancement programs coordinator, took pictures this winter of some of the yarn bombing.  You can see a selection of those pictures in the gallery below.
