Cornell College is hosting a final open house before renovations begin at the Garner’s President’s House.
The house will be open to the public from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Feb. 15. People have a chance to tour the house and see the historic building one last time before renovations begin. Hot chocolate will be served.
In May, the college announced plans to re-name the house, which has served as home to the presidents of the Cornell since the late 1800s, in honor of Les and Katrina Garner. Les Garner served as president from 1994 until his retirement in 2010. At the same time, plans were announced to renovate the public and private spaces. The college’s board of trustees approved plans in early February and construction is set to begin in the spring.
