Berry Center Lunch and Learn: Careers in the State Government Sector
The Berry Center invites you to take part in an informal discussion with Jeff Curran ’09 and Katie Gieszler ’10 on Feb 24th to discuss career options for economics and business students in the state government sector. Curran and Gieszler both graduated with bachelor’s degrees in economics and business. Curran is a labor market economist for Iowa Workforce Development, State of Iowa, where he collects and disseminates information on unemployment rates, job projections, industry trends, labor sheds, and some topical issues of the day. He is also a business analyst/accountability partner at Startup City Des Moines, a startup incubator assisting local entrepreneurs. Gieszler works at the Iowa Economic Development Authority in the Community Development Division administering a federally-funded property acquisition (“buyout”) program as a result of the statewide 2008 flooding.
