Potters For Peace Luncheon

The Multicultural Council is sponsoring an informal luncheon with the executive board of Potters For Peace on Nov 11th. Professor Doug Hanson is hosting the annual meeting of the Potters For Peace executive board Nov. 10-14, and the 10-member board will be in attendance from Nicaragua, Canada, and across the United States. Hanson has been a member of this non-governmental organization since its inception in 1988 during the Nicaraguan revolution. Potters For Peace’s mission is to provide micro loans, assisting hundreds of potters with their livelihood. The session will be an informal question/discussion luncheon following the remarks by board members. This should be of interest to those studying Central America, humanitarian aid, NGOs, civic engagement, and art. Those attending are encouraged to go through Scramble and bring their lunch to the event.
