Fiske Guide again recognizes Cornell’s value

Cornell College is one of 49 “Best Buy” schools, according to the 2012 Fiske Guide to Colleges.

The Fiske guide named 24 public and 25 private schools as Best Buys. All of the Best Buy schools fall into the inexpensive or moderate price category, and most have four- or five-star academics ratings. This is the third year in a row that Cornell has been recognized as a Best Buy.

“There is a great deal of understandable conversation about college costs, more today than ever,” said Jonathan Stroud, vice president for enrollment and dean of admission. “Students and their families should evaluate college costs by two primary criteria: financial access and educational value, or return on investment. We are pleased that Fiske Guide has again recognized Cornell as a best buy school, in particular, because it recognizes both the college’s institutional excellence and its commitment to providing quality financial assistance to its talented student body.”

For more than 25 years, millions of parents, counselors, and college-bound students have turned to The Fiske Guide to Colleges for an independent perspective on the distinctive personalities of the best and most interesting colleges and universities in the U.S., Canada, and Great Britain.

The Fiske Guide to Colleges is also available exclusively on the iPad. Fiske Interactive College Guide ($19.99) allows you to go beyond the book and streamline your college search.
