BlaQ Market Monologues presented by MPAACT

Come Feb 8th and see the Ma’at Production Association of Afrikan Centered Theatre (MPAACT). This performing arts group was founded to explore, cultivate, and sustain Afrikan centered theatre, an artistic expression grounded in the many cultures and traditions of the Afrikan continent and its Diaspora. Their performance, “Market Monologues” is an examination of race, gender, ethnicity, class, culture, politics, and faith. It also offers a unique glimpse into the complex dynamics in our society and provides a forum to discuss the value of diversity in art.Award-winning and critically acclaimed writers Lydia Diamond, Nambi E. Kelley, Shepsu Aakhu, and Aadae Moon have created a work which encapsulates the diversity of perspectives, styles, and values which make the African American theatre community so vibrant.
