Berry Center’s Lunch and Learn Series Feb 2011
The Berry Center will host a series of Lunch and Learn sessions second semester, with each session providing valuable information regarding potential career paths.
Join Eric Hanson, communications and marketing director at the Iowa City Area Development Group, to discuss careers in marketing this Feb 9th. Hanson is involved with investor communications, marketing and planning for events, media relations, and a number of other areas within communications and marketing. In addition, Hanson also teaches a marketing management class for the Mount Mercy M.B.A. program, which highlights a real-world approach to marketing through the use of case studies. On March 7th join Eric Sudol ’03, senior sales executive with the Dallas Cowboys football franchise, to discuss Careers in Sports Management. Sudol is involved with sales and marketing for the Cowboys, and previously worked with the Memphis Grizzlies professional basketball franchise. He earned a graduate degree in sports administration and an M.B.A. from Ohio University.
On April 19th, there will be a Lunch and Learn Session focusing on human resources with Jill Hugunin, director of human resources at Pearson. Hugunin is an experienced professional in the human resources field, and will discuss a variety of HR career topics.
On May 6th, join Michelle Knowland ’06 who currently works for the City Manager’s office in Loveland, Ohio. She is directly involved in public policy creation and implementation at the local level through budget formulation, sustainability efforts, grant writing, and policy research.
Alumni Lon Mishler ’69 and Carol Fair Mishler ’70 will share their expertise on careers in investments and finance, on May 10th . Lon and Carol own a financial planning company in De Pere, Wis., called Financial Planning and Information Services. Lon also taught finance courses at Northeast Wisconsin Technical College for over 20 years.
