Orchestra Concert set for March 18
Cornell College’s Chamber Orchestra will put on a concert March 18 featuring a senior soloist and selections from Haydn and Mozart.
The concert will feature Anna Yeagle, a senior Bachelor of Performance Music Major in the 1st movement of Franz Joseph Haydn’s Cello Concerto in C. In addition, the concert will consist of Michael Haydn’s Overture to Andromeda ed Perseo and W.A. Mozart’s Symphony No. 38 (“Prague”).
Cello Concerto in C was composed in the 1760s and believed lost until 1961. Mozart’s Symphony No. 38 was composed in the 1780s.
Professor Martin Hearne directs the Cornell Orchestra.
The concert will be held in King Chapel at 7:30 PM on Thursday, March 18, 2010. The concert is free and open to the public.
