President Les Garner’s Op-Ed on the need for further discourse on higher education in the Presidential race was published in the Sept. 12 issue of The Chronicle of Higher Education.

In the piece, which is part of an issue on politics and education, Garner highlights areas of higher education which are often glanced over in an election season.

“Many of the policy makers who will populate the next administration are now working in or close to the presidential campaigns,” said Garner. “We should be taking the messages of hope and partnership to them and to the two presidential candidates, explaining what we can do and suggesting what the next administration should do to make sure that our students are the best-educated in the world.”

The whole piece can be read online at The Chronicle of Higher Education.
