Stephanie Froehlich ’05
Stephanie Froehlich, ’05, has used the liberal arts education she received at Cornell and the experience she gained from internships to jump into a position with the NASDAQ. She makes presentations to companies on the benefits of switching from the New York Stock Exchange to the NASDAQ.
Froehlich has worked directly with the CEO of her company on many occasions, as well as some of the most well known and respected companies in the world.
“All of this wouldn’t be possible if it wasn’t for my education at Cornell. The experiences I had at Cornell including my internships in London, New York & Chicago put me above and beyond the competition. When I applied for the job at NASDAQ the position required at least 3 years of experience in the finance field. Technically since I was just out of college I had no experience, but my manager was so impressed with my internship experience that he believed I had enough experience to do the job.”
She credits the OCAAT structure for her success “My job can be very high pressure because a lot of things happen very quickly when you work for a stock market. I get a lot of last minute, high profile requests that I must get done quickly. Because of OCAAT I learned the skills to focus on the job at hand and get things done quickly and correctly.”
Froehlich believes that “Without Cornell I would not be in the position that I am today. I was able to take advantage of the many unique aspects of Cornell while I was a student there: internships, study abroad, tennis, etc. All of these things put together set me apart from others and has allowed me to succeed at NASDAQ.”
