Student recieves U.S. Bank scholarship
MOUNT VERNON – Myka Peterson, an Albia, Iowa resident and a junior at Cornell College in Mount Vernon, has been selected to receive a $400 U. S. Bank Scholarship for the 2008-09 academic year through the Iowa College Foundation (ICF).
The scholarships are competitively awarded to students from low to moderate-income households that are majoring in business management, accounting, finance or mathematics.They must have earned a grade point average of 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale and be Iowa residents attending one of ICF’s independent institutions as a junior or senior.
Jack Jones, president of the Iowa College Foundation, said this program reflects U. S. Bank’s appreciation of an education at Iowa’s independent colleges and universities. U. S. Bank’s commitment and support to the students who study at these institutions will help shape the future leaders of Iowa business.
