MOUNT VERNON — Tapestry, an international vocal ensemble, celebrates St. Patrick’s Day at Cornell College as the final event in the 2007-08 Music Mondays series. The concert is at 7:30 p.m. Monday, March 17, in King Chapel.
Admission at the door is $10 for adults and $5 for students. Admission is free to Cornell students, faculty, staff, emeriti faculty, retired staff and their families, and to holders of the Purple Pass.
Performing a selection of pieces from their album “Faces of a Woman,” including a number of St. Patrick’s Day appropriate Irish songs, Tapestry returns as a local favorite, having performed at Cornell College twice before. The Boston-based ensemble combines medieval and traditional repertory with contemporary compositions.
Tapestry has won numerous awards, including WQXR and Chamber Music America’s Recording of the Year and, most recently, the prestigious Echo Klassik Prize for their recording “Sapphire Night.” The ensemble has performed at festivals and concerts all over the world, including the Metropolitan Museum of Art and Rockefeller University, Stanford University, and many others.
