MOUNT VERNON — Cornell College is introducing the new Purple Pass, which allows free admission to home athletic contests, Music Mondays concerts and campus lectures for residents of Mount Vernon and Lisbon and families with children in either school district.
“We encourage community members to take advantage of the variety of public events at Cornell, and we hope the Purple Pass will provide a very cost-effective way – particularly for families – to enjoy these activities,” said John Harp, Cornell vice president for student affairs.
Patrons can obtain a Purple Pass for their family by showing proof of residence (a driver’s license or other document with a home address) or school enrollment (school ID, etc.).
The 2007-2008 Purple Pass will be available at Cornell’s first two home football games, Sept. 8 vs. Alma and Sept. 15 vs. Loras, and the first two home volleyball matches, Sept. 11 vs. Loras and Sept. 12 vs. Mount Mercy. The Purple Pass also is available at the Info Desk in The Commons or at the athletics office in the Small Multi-Sport Center.
The Info Desk is open 8 a.m. to midnight Monday-Saturday and 10 a.m. to midnight Sunday. The athletics office is open 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. weekdays.
