MOUNT VERNON — An eclectic array of art by faculty members at Coe College, Kirkwood Community College and Mount Mercy College will be exhibited at Cornell College’s Armstrong Gallery from Feb. 18 through March 25. The exhibition opens with a reception from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 18.
The 23 artists teaching studio art courses will present a wide variety of media and styles in this invitational exhibition: drawing, printmaking, painting, photography, graphic design, ceramics, sculpture, mixed media, video and intermedia.
“It was felt by the Cornell faculty that it’s time to invite our friends to do this,” said Susan Coleman, gallery coordinator. No Cornell art faculty are included in the exhibition because, Coleman said, Cornell presented its own faculty show last fall for homecoming.
Artists from Coe are John Beckelman, Lucy Goodson, David Goodwin, Dan McCabe, Priscilla Steele and Peter Thompson.
Artists from Kirkwood are Tilden Broemser, Patrick Ellis, Tim Geerlings, Helen Grunewald, Doug Hall, Rick Hintze, Jeung Hee Lee, Helen Newmann and Sharon Stewart.
Artists from Mount Mercy are Charles Barth, Ellen Barth, Jane Gilmor, Geoffrey Lasko, Robert Naujoks, Jennifer Otis, Nathan Peck and David Van Allen.
Armstrong Gallery hours are 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday and 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday. Admission is free.
