Hugh Lifson: Life after Cornell
Hugh Lifson
Art, 1963-1999
Hugh Lifson still lives in his home a block from campus and works in his art studio at least an hour or two every day, he says, “except Sunday, which is devoted to the New York Times.” What he considers to be his serious work employs acrylic and plastic wrap—his signature medium since the 1960s—and centers around a theme, which is currently synagogues. His other work is plein air, or painting in watercolor outdoors, including during two trips to Italy.
