The Cornell College Board of Trustees has announced the election of two new members, Bill Haffke ’65 and John Turner ’94, as well as the election of a returning member, Judy Hesler Jorgensen ’60.
Haffke is a retired banker who lives with his wife, Katherine, in Cleveland Heights, Ohio. He earned a B.A. from Cornell College in 1965, and a J.D. from Duke University in 1970. Haffke spent 17 years as an executive vice president of credit policy and risk management with Ameritrust Corporation, as well as serving as a senior partner with Benesch, Friedlander, Coplan & Aronoff. He was also CEO of CompliSource until his retirement in 2003. His community leadership includes board service to the Cleveland Ballet and the Positive Education Program.
Turner is the head of trading for Alyeska Investment Group and lives in Chicago with his wife and three children. He earned a B.A. in computer science and economics and business from Cornell College in 1994, and an M.B.A. from Washington University in 2004. He is a past member of the Cornell College Alumni Board, has served on the college’s investment committee, and is a member of the Cornell College Chicago Club.
Jorgensen is returning to the board. She is the retired dean of Academic Support at Waukesha County Technical College, where she worked for 24 years, and lives in Oconomowoc, Wisconsin with her husband. She earned a B.A. from Cornell and an M.S. from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. She is an active community advocate, supporting the Milwaukee Art Museum, the Waukesha County Action Network, the Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra, the Greater Milwaukee Foundation, and others.
