Cornell College one of 20 ‘Best Buys’ in private colleges

Cornell College is one of 20 private colleges recognized as a “best buy” in the 2014 edition of the “Fiske Guide to Colleges.” All of the best buy schools fall into the inexpensive or moderate price category, and have excellent academics ratings.

The guide named 21 public and 20 private colleges to its “Best Buy” list. This is the fourth time in five years that Cornell has been included on that list.

“College affordability and value are a major concern for parents and students,” said Colleen Murphy, vice president for enrollment and admission. “Cornell College provides a valuable, life-changing education. We are pleased that Fiske Guide has again named Cornell a best buy school, in particular, because it recognizes both the college’s institutional excellence and its commitment to providing quality financial assistance to its talented student body.”

Cornell is the only private college in Iowa and one of only two schools in the state on the 2014 Best Buy list.
