Gazette highlights admissions Web interviewsJanuary 23, 2009
The gizmos and gadgetry of the Cornell admission process were on full display on Friday as the Cedar Rapids Gazette featured Cornell’s Web cam interviewing process on the front page.
Darrell Aaron ’05 was pictured and quoted in the article that discussed this leap forward in recruiting tactics, a leap in which Cornell is leading the way as “one of few colleges or universities in Iowa using the webcam technology for admission interviews,” according to the article.
“As a small college we really like to personally connect with students,” said Jonathan Stroud, dean of admission. “They are able to see each other and we think, as a result, relate a little bit more to one another as real people.”
